ABOUT Rachel Teresi

I'm a Class A Member of the LPGA, the golf industry's leader in research-based golf education. "Consistency through Efficiency" is my teaching trademark and I teach golfers of all ability levels. I am also the Director of Instruction at the beautiful and historic Hinsdale Golf Club in Clarendon Hills, IL.

ABOUT my teaching

I try to give students the knowledge and understanding of the "pre-swing" and "in-swing" fundamentals required for an efficient golf swing, as well as useful ways to practice and refine those skills. New golfers, experienced golfers and competitive golfers can all benefit from this objective approach to learning the game.

Teaching Locations

Silver Lake Golf in Orland Park, IL is my southwest suburban location. Silver Lake is owned and operated by the wonderful Coghill Family. It is a great place to learn and completely enjoy the game of golf! The Preserve at Oak Meadows in Addison, IL and Green Meadows Golf Club in Westmont, IL are my DuPage locations. I have been privileged for many years to be a Featured Instructor for these beautiful DuPage Golf Facilities. During the winter months, my golf programs are held at the White Pines Golf Dome in Bensenville, IL. Programs run every off season November through April. It is our fun, tried and true - annual winter golf learning event for all of our favorite die-hard golfers out there!

a HISTORY of rachel teresi golf

Rachel Teresi Golf was formed with the idea of giving Chicago area golfers sound, fundamental and consistent golf instruction - day in and day out - year-round! "Consistency through Efficiency"TM is our teaching mantra and we do believe that golf is a game that anyone can play when it is learned properly. Rachel herself started playing golf at age 27. She took lessons and practiced. After 4 years of hard work, she achieved her Class A membership status in the Ladies Professional Golf Association under the guidance of her teaching mentor, colleague and friend - the late LPGA Master Professional - Dr. DeDe Owens - at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club in Lemont, IL.

About me

Over the last 25 years, I've given thousands of golf lessons. I've also been lucky to serve many groups in golf. Many, many thanks to all of them for making our great game of golf even greater. Among them are the LPGA, PGA, WGA, Catholic Charities, Off the Street Kid's Club, Athletes Against Drugs, Maryville Academy, Neumann Association, Executive Women's Golf Association, EWN, Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital, Mundelein Seminary, St. Andrew and St. Bonaventure Parishes, New Hope Community Center, The First Tee, Crisis Center for South Suburbia, Deicke Home, Saint Ignatius Golf Teams, T.A.N., The Theatre School at DePaul University, University of Chicago Lab Schools, Illinois State University's Women's Golf Program, Old St. Mary and St. Josaphat Schools, Kingswood Academy, St. John the Baptist School & Parish, After School Matters and the Welles Special Recreation Parents Association.

Years ago, I served on the research committees for two major contributions to modern golf learning - the book Smart Golf by Dr. Dan Kirshenbaum and Dr. DeDe Owens and the 2007 University of Chicago LPGA Golf Findings Study by Dr. John Milton. Both experiences were outstanding - and to this day - have proven invaluable to me as a teacher and as a player.

I was born and raised in Chicago. I'm a proud DePaul University Alum (B.S.Ed '86) and Blue Demon Letter Winner in Softball '82-'86. GO BLUE DEMONS! I love my city - the people...the restaurants...the lakefront...and the sports. Go Cubs! Go Blackhawks! Da Bears!

When it comes to the sport of golf, I feel extremely fortunate and am very happy to say that our golf courses here in the Chicago area and around the Midwest, public and private, are some of the finest in the world!

Golf Pro 911 - I love technology's positive influence on golf learning today and I am happy to say that our very own Apple iPhone App GolfPro911 is no exception. It has been downloaded in over 59 countries over the past few years. It is so incredible for me to know that someone in Estonia or Lebanon is viewing our app on their Apple iPhone and learning to play the great game of golf almost half way around the world. So cool!!
